Tri it, you'll like it
Run, bike, swim ... for most people, doing just one
of the three activities is grueling. But triathletes combine all
three for a workout that is more than total-body, it's all encompassing.
Immortalized by the Ironman event held in Kona, Hawaii each year
-- 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike race and 26.2-mile run -- most people
don't realize that many triathlons are much, much shorter jaunts.
For years, triathletes in Savannah had to trek hours to events in
Florida and North Carolina, now local triathlon clubs are organizing
events much closer to home.
